It has been a blistering 24 hours from Telefonica Blue which is now close to catching the leaders. That’s partly thanks to the traffic jam that snarled Ericsson 4 allowing their team-mates E3 to pass. Mark Chisnell reports.

The fleet is running north in moderate conditions on Sunday morning and Ericsson 3 has leapfrogged their running mate to grab the lead, with stronger winds ahead...but the doldrums are looming as well.

The winds have dropped, the seas have flattened out, the air temperature is rising and the wet-weather gear is coming off. The Ericsson twins still lead the way as the fleet make preparations for the trade winds.
